Meet Dr. Yi Zheng – Owner & Optometrist
Dr. Yi Zheng is an experienced optometrist who has provided quality eye care in communities across Canada. Originally from Montreal, he pursued his optometry education at the University of Waterloo and completed an internship at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, where he gained valuable insight into treating a wide range of eye conditions.
From there, Dr. Zheng’s career took him from Northern Alberta to British Columbia, where he worked in both busy urban clinics and small rural communities. That range of experience gave him a deep appreciation for what it takes to serve patients well in any setting, and a growing pull toward communities where quality eye care can make an outsized difference.
That path eventually led him to The Pas, where he purchased the practice formerly known as Herman Eye Care. What began as a career move became something more personal: Dr. Zheng put down roots, built Clearwater Optometry into the practice it is today, and made The Pas his home. In September 2025, he expanded further, opening a second location, Aurora Optical at Otineka Mall, to bring accessible, quality eye care to even more of the community.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Zheng enjoys fishing at Clearwater Lake and staying active through a variety of sports. His combination of broad professional experience and genuine investment in the community he now calls home make him deeply committed to providing the best possible care to every patient who walks through the door.

Meet Our Dedicated Team
Antonio Wolfe
Clinic Manager & Licensed Optician
Antonio is a Licensed Optician with the Opticians of Manitoba, trained through NAIT and certified via the national NACOR exam. He joined Clearwater Optometry in 2023 after nine years in optical dispensaries, and specializes in custom lens design and precise measurements to get every pair of glasses right the first time. Originally from Grande Prairie, Antonio now calls The Pas home, where you’ll often find him fly fishing at Barbe Lake at sunrise.
Sydney Koshowski
Optometric Assistant
Sydney is a detail-oriented Optometric Assistant who completed the Optical Sciences Diploma program at NAIT. She has extensive experience helping patients, from children to seniors, with specialty frames and complex prescriptions, including high-index, aspheric, and progressive lenses. Raised in The Pas, Sydney loves helping patients find eyewear that fits both their vision needs and personal style.

Giving Back
At Clearwater Optometry, our team is dedicated to giving back to the community in meaningful ways. We believe everyone deserves access to quality eye care, which is why we are developing a program to bring the same high-level care to remote communities as those in larger centres.
We also take pride in supporting local events, including participating in the Northern Manitoba Trappers’ Festival, and staying active in the community through our sponsorship of the Northern Manitoba Blizzard hockey team.
